Built To Last 100 Years
The Moderne has incorporated many energy saving and sustainable building elements. Heating for the building is provided through a central steam to hot water converter. Steam is available from the City of Milwaukee as a waste by-product from their central plants. Additionally, the building is fully insulated with a sprayed in place foam insulation, offering high R-values and excellent vapor retardant properties.
The glass selected features a high value for light to solar gain, meaning the glass takes maximum advantage of available daylight (cutting back on electrical lighting costs) while limiting heat gain from the sun. These features along with high quality, durable materials that have long life cycle expectancies make The Moderne an attractive and sustainable addition to the city.
